Participation of Agrupamento de Escolas da Maia in the 4th International Education Conference – Paris, France
The students from Agrupamento de Escolas da Maia proudly participated in the '4th International Education Conference', held in Paris, France, where they presented their innovative project entitled "Developing an Arduino-Based Kitchen Fire Prevention System for Educational Enhancement.”
This international event brought together educators, researchers, and students from different countries to share innovative practices and projects in the field of education. The conference provided an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas, collaboration, and the promotion of technological solutions that enhance learning experiences.
The project presented by the students was developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ project 'Dig4Aedu', and it reflects the school’s strong commitment to digital innovation and practical, hands-on learning. The Arduino-based system aims to prevent kitchen fires by detecting potential hazards and activating safety mechanisms, combining technology, programming, and real-world problem solving.
The work presented in Paris was also connected to the students’ mobility experience in Romania, where they had the opportunity to collaborate with international partners, deepen their technical knowledge, and strengthen intercultural competencies. This mobility experience played a significant role in the development and refinement of the project.
By participating in the conference, the students demonstrated not only technical skills and creativity but also confidence, teamwork, and communication abilities in an international academic context. Their presentation highlighted the importance of integrating digital tools into education to promote innovation, safety awareness, and active learning.
