On June 6, 2025, the Agrupamento de Escolas do Cerco do Porto hosted the LED National Event – Learning in Action, a landmark gathering that brought together approximately 500 participants to celebrate the integration of digital technology in modern pedagogy. The highlight of the day was the presentation of two projects, developed under the framework of the Erasmus+ initiative, "Digital for Active Education." This project emphasizes the transition from traditional teaching to a more dynamic, student-centered approach where digital tools serve as a bridge to deeper engagement and active citizenship.
Throughout the day, students took center stage as the primary protagonists of their own learning journeys. With more than 60 school clusters represented, the event served as a massive showcase for the work conducted within Digital Education Laboratories (LED). The students’ involvement was multifaceted, ranging from the Gallery of Practices—where 61 live demonstrations took place—to thematic panels where they shared personal insights alongside their teachers. The sheer volume of work was impressive, featuring the projection of 32 student-led videos and a display of over 200 posters that illustrated the creative process behind their digital assignments.
This event was more than just an exhibition; it was a testament to the successful collaboration between the LED/DGE team, ICT Competence Centers, Digital Ambassadors, and the schools themselves. By blending cultural performances with technical presentations, the students proved that the Erasmus+ "Digital for Active Education" goals are being met with excellence. The diversity and quality of the practices presented highlighted a future where Portuguese students are not just using technology, but are mastering it to solve problems and express their creativity in a globalized world.
