Erasmus+ Project: Digital for Active Education (Dig4AEdu)
Colegiul Tehnic 'Edmond Nicolau' in Focșani, Romania, proudly shares its key dissemination efforts and tangible results within the Erasmus+ 'Digital for Active Education' project. Through a series of innovative workshops, student-led digital projects, international mobilities, and community events, our school has actively promoted active learning powered by digital tools, contributing to the project's goals of enhancing STEAM education, sustainability, and student engagement across Europe.
The "Digital for Active Education"Â project represents one of our most recent and dynamic commitments to innovation in education. This Erasmus+ initiative brings together schools and partners from several European countries with a shared goal: to integrate digital tools and technologies into active, student-centered learning approaches. Through project-based learning (PjBL), STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), and a strong emphasis on sustainability, digitalization, and creativity, the project empowers students to become active creators rather than passive consumers of knowledge.
At Colegiul Tehnic "Edmond Nicolau", we have carried out a wide range of dissemination and implementation activities:
Organization of workshops and practical sessions using digital tools, sensors, Arduino-based projects, robotics, and programming;
Student-led project development on real-life topics such as environmental protection, smart home solutions, fire prevention systems, and sustainable technologies;
Participation in international mobilities, training events, and partner meetings (including hosting and attending activities in Portugal, Greece, Latvia and Turkey);
Creation and presentation of student products — videos, prototypes, presentations, and interactive materials — shared on our project YouTube channel and school platforms;
Collaboration with local companies, universities, and the community to multiply the impact of digital active learning;
Internal teacher training sessions and peer-learning activities to spread innovative pedagogical methods across all our classes.
These activities not only improved digital competences, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills among our students, but also contributed to building a more inclusive, modern, and future-oriented school environment.
We showcase concrete examples of our students' work, the results achieved, and the long-term benefits for our educational community. We believe that "Digital for Active Education" perfectly aligns with the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme and the European Digital Education Action Plan, demonstrating how technology, when used purposefully, can make learning more engaging, relevant, and active.
